THE SHADOW CHASER

Darien Yost is about to be thrust into a world that he never knew existed yet lies underneath the modern reality he has always known. It is a world of people who have the ability to shift into animals at will but keep their existence from being discovered by normal humans.

It starts when he comes home from work one afternoon and falls unconscious for several hours. When he awakens, groups of people from opposing factions of shapeshifters enter his life, knowing intimate details about him, his habits, and his friends. They all seek to recruit him for a war that is fought beneath the scrutiny of the modern world. In order to survive in this new world, Darien needs to learn why he is unique; why all of the factions are interested in recruiting him - against his will if necessary. As they close in, his life becomes a struggle to grasp control of his new-found shifting abilities in order to escape those who would dominate his life.

“The Shadow Chaser” (ISBN 1592990746) is my first novel. It is a fantasy novel set in the modern day and age and tells the story of Darien Yost, a young man whose life will never be the same. He learns through a series of seemingly random events that there is another world that exists underneath the one that every person sees as they go through their daily routines - a world where there are people with the ability to shape between a human and animal form.
